Alright, so...break down of technology here kids.
The camera, which takes the photos of the sneakers, is having a little bit of trouble importing those photos to the computer, which I so often use to haphazardly scatter said photos throughout the internet.
I have managed to get a few transferred over though.
Two, to be specific.
Painted these today, they were classy in all brown leather (first photo), but I just wasn't wearing them and I felt that the beautiful design of the AM90s (awesome) was getting lost in all the monochromaticism. (look it up, it's a word)

AFTER:

That's all I've got on those, it get the point across though. (although the heel of the shoe looks real good)
I also recently took on a more challenging and alien endeavor! I've done some sewing in my time, although mostly making t-shirts fit and novice work like that. I had never made anything from scratch before, but, I thought making a hooded sweatshirt couldn't be too hard.
I was wrong...but who cares. Hooded sweatshirt time.

Kangaroo pockets, parka zipper, and all the fixins.
It's the perfect hoodie for my drug dealer puff jacket, cause it's made from a fairly thin material, and let me tell you, if I wore a full on thick lined hooded sweatshirt under that thing, I would burst into flames...
Alright, well, if I can scrounge up any more shots of the kicks, I'll put them up, but hopefully the bonus photos of the hoodie helped round out this blarg.

Alright, so I know girls hate the fact that they always get stuck with lame colors.
"Oh wow, a new women's sneaker dropped, surprise, it's pink and purple, or, it's all pastel.."
So, when I saw these pink and purple Delta Forces, in a good women's size, and in great condition (the print on the insole is perfect), I knew I had to buy them up and do a less girly recolor.

The shoe was originally just pink, fuchsia, and white.
I wanted to get it away from the pink, but the sole and lace hooks were unpaintable, and the heel of the shoe (with NIKE embossed on it) would also have been a difficult task to paint. So, I decided to try and work the pink accents, while still adding some more strong primary/secondary colors.
I'm pretty happy with their look, they're somewhat eccentric, of course, but they were an easy paint, and I'm very happy with how well the paint consistency finished.
Short entry. You might've seen this guys request on the kustom board. I offered to fill his order. They turned out pretty well by me, the deal with the guy ended up getting a little bit hairy, but it's settled now, and I've got these pictures for my custom portfolio.

Incase you missed these on the forums...or you don't patrol the boards.

Alright, so I got a rush of artistic compulsion last night and ended up writing all over a blank cap I had lying around. First time writing on a hat, probably should get some better markers if I want to do it again.
Here's how it happened in pictures.

So first I sketched the design on with pencil and then traced over with black sharpie. You can tell I had a problem around the upper left part of the design...which ends up becoming a text bubble...cause the pencil didn't erase very well.

Blam, silver sharpie. Went on kind of dark, lost a lot of it's metallic sheen, but it did a good job of covering up small errors and shit.

Red sharpie for the outline, bled like a mother fucker, doesn't look too terrible though...considering that it's supposed to look drippy. Lots of bubbles and drips, including the big bubble with the tag to cover up the graphite smear left over from the sketching stage.

Yellow backdrop, I wanted to do light blue but since I was testing the sharpies on a scrap of white fabric (which I wish I had done with the red) I knew that the light blue would come out way too dark and I couldn't have the dark grey, dark red, black, and dark blue. Yellow works alright, with the red it gives it a sort of old school look.

Here's the finished hat, with a few areas touched up and some more bubbles added for balance.
If I get some more hats I'll invest in some fabric markers so that I can get better effects. For now it's old school though. Keep on sneaking.
Dang, so, no posts for a while. Not much sneaker freaking either. My time has been so thoroughly consumed by my school work. I thought being a drawing major (Illustration) would mean I wouldn't have much homework and my classes would be breezy, laid back drawing sessions. So wrong.
Graphic Design is a really competitive major with two rounds of cuts and an ever-present philosophy of weeding the students out by overloading them with weeks of constant work to cull out the weak. Illustration isn't competitive at all, but in the design school it's linked to Graphic design...so I have to get dragged through the dirt anyway.
I've been trying to make some time in my life for sneakers though. Still on the boards, still reading the magazine, and waiting for the NB 574 Transport pack to drop.
Hopefully I'll have something more sneaker related to post about soon. I have a pair of Court Forces I've been meaning to customize, and I might get around to that this weekend. It won't be anything drastic so hopefully I can hammer 'em out in a couple of hours. (depending on if I want choose to emboss them at all)
I also have a pair of 95's I bought on eBay that should be arriving fairly soon. They'll get a subtle paint job too and a pair of Adicolor laces. Most of my customs are pretty wild, so I think it'll be good to do some boring/simple revamps.
Two different people approached me about doing customs as well...which would be nice, doing customs to make money instead of, straight up, spending money on making customs.
Dang, so much shit!! I have no time! The next time I post on here I'll have at least one pair of customs though and maybe even some "graf" too.
ANYWAYS, right now, I've got a Typography project that I need to go print out before class.
As a final point to this dragging blog, here's the design I entered in the Gravis design competition:

Stay dope sneakerheads.
Jus' got back to good ol' Lawrence Kansas! The eight days I spent in and around Portland were good, definately, hitting the beach and checking out the city, but now I'm back...and here's what I got...

From the left: Orange Stussy tee with silver graf printing, two Graniph tees in bamboo and neon plaid, and a King Stampede Mexican Blanket tee.
My grand total spent? $36!!
Both Graniph tees and the Stussy tee were all $2 a piece! (At the best tight flea market I've ever been to)
The King Stampede was the extra $30, but I love that Mexican Blanket shit and, even for me, thirties not bad. The guys who ran the store were real nice to boot! (Lifted, 2415 NE Broadway in Portland)
All that and no added tax, thank you state of Oregon. :D
P.S. and an extra double thank you to Format zine for seding me this in the mail...

Dave White, yessir.
(Also, the almost-completely-out-of-the-picture black framed painting holding down the Dave White print in the top right corner is an awesome painting done in watercolor by a good buddy of mine Ben Rumback, check out his site at www.BenRumback.com)
Everybody hated the design, including my girlfriend, but the superstars were cheap, so I did it anyway.

These are one of a kind and size eight. I can't wear them and will consider selling them if anybody wants to make an offer. (I understand that they're not everybody cup of tea)
Here's the base shoe and concept design:

The design is pretty similar to the finished project. I ended up using a more vibrant shade of green though and thiner stripes on the plaid - due to the gauge of masking tapes that were available.
Kansas summer is upon us here in Lawrence, it's gotten a slow start, but the triple digit teperatures loom large in our global warming futures. Looking through my closet made me realize how few versatile tees I have, so, I decided to make some.
This is the first of three.

One of a kind, although I can produce more...if anybody happens to want one.
